Since my childhood, my surroundings ? my Santiniketan? ? encompassment ? have been expressed in my works whether be?? it in the scribbling in my Patha Bhavan drawing books or on the?? copper plates in the Graphic studio of Kala Bhavan. It has been?? fifty years now that I have been pursuing art as a form of?expression and it has become an integral part of my being. In this? process I have discovered an eternal truth that has unknowingly?given shape to my impressions. I have been intrigued by incredible special relationship between every object around me?that binds them together. And this tremendous binding force has?been expressed in my works through some lines and some The very theme of all my works is this binding force that has been?? articulated in different forms.?? I have sought to capture the emotions that hide behind the?? fa?ade and have tried to interpret subjectively ? compositions that sometimes may be jarring. It is not important to? reproduce ?an aesthetically pleasing impression of the artistic?subject matter but it is obligatory to capture the vivid emotional?? reactions through powerful lines and dynamic compositions.
